PDX Flatiron

The PDX Flatiron building is a timber-framed mixed-use building on the bustling North Mississippi Avenue in Portland.  The five stories of 28,000 square feet will serve as open loft space with Oregon-made glulam frame and Structurlam CrossLam floor deck.

The Cross-laminated timber deck was chosen for its unique ability to simplify the corner geometries structural requirements. Because CLT is two-directional in strength, the Design Team was able to use the material to create the laced corners with double cantilever balconies and projections.

[Structurlam was] very good at always laying out the right pricing and timing delivery so that the final finished product was of the highest of standards.
