Elkford Community Hall is a $6.4 million energy efficient community conference centre that was constructed of Structurlam’s Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) panels. The building is widely recognized for its innovative use of mass timber products, as it is the first commercial application of Cross Laminated Timber wall panels in North America.
The 1,800 square-metre building features a visitor’s centre, playschool, commercial kitchen, banquet hall with a stage, multi-purpose meeting room, as well as historical displays.
Working with Structurlam on the UBC Brock Commons project was an absolute joy. Their attention to detail with respect to complex machining tolerances and logistics made for a very smooth procurement process.Robert Jackson, Structural Project Engineer for the Brock Commons Phase 1 Building, Fast + Epp, Vancouver, BC
