UBC Earth Sciences Building

This state-of-the-art facility will be used for research into mineral exploration and sustainable mining practices. Constructed to meet LEED Gold Standards, the Earth Science Building is the one of the largest panelized wood building and the largest application of cross-laminated timber in North America.

Fast Facts:

  • The building uses over 1,300 tons of BC sourced and engineered CLT
  • Each ton of dry wood sequesters sufficient carbon to keep between 1.8 and 2.0 tons of CO2 from being formed
  • The Structurlam materials used in the building sequester approximately 2,600 tons of CO2

We have consistently been very pleased with their products and their people.
