The Wood Innovation and Design Centre (WIDC) is among the tallest wood buildings in North America. Standing at 96 feet tall, the building was constructed using a variety of locally manufactured solid engineered wood products including cross-laminated timber, glue-laminated timber, and laminated veneer lumber.
The WIDC features inventive use of wood solutions to solve every-day design and construction challenges. The WIDC showcases B.C.’s growing expertise in the design and construction of large-scale wood buildings.
Structurlam was very professional in their conduct on the project and demonstrated a willingness to work with the team, develop detailed models, provide innovative solutions and respond to the needs of the project.
