Residential, commercial and institutional projects that make use of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) are popping up in increased numbers across the United States and Canada. Arbora, a new residential project in Montreal, is one of the latest illustrations of wood as an eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to steel and concrete. The project takes inspiration from Brock Commons, UBC’s 18-storey student residence and the tallest mass timber building in the world.
