Structurlam Celebrates Record Breaking Projects with Beam and Panel Signing Event

Structurlam Products LP will celebrate the construction of two record breaking projects with a panel and beam signing event on Friday June 17th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at its South Plant in Okanagan Falls, BC located at 1675 Maple Street.
The event will bring together invited guests, Structurlam employees and partners to celebrate the leading edge work undertaken by Structurlam within the construction industry. Project architects, owners, and plant employees will gather to sign the final beam and panel of two of Structurlam’s world class projects. The first, UBC Brock Commons, will be the world’s tallest wood building upon completion and will serve as a benchmark for future wood construction. The UBC Brock Commons Residence, classified as a “Tallwood” building, has already received international recognition regarding its size, capabilities in fighting climate change, speed of construction, and affordability.
The second project to be celebrated at the event is Calgary’s Rocky Ridge Recreation Facility, which features the world’s largest wood constructed roof in North America, covering approximately 18,000 square meters. Requiring almost two years to design and produce, the Rocky Ridge roof consists of 2,000 wood members, where no two are the same. “We’ve made a business of responsibly pushing the boundaries in terms of what is considered possible when it comes to mass timber solutions” says Structurlam President, Bill Downing. “We couldn’t be more excited to commemorate two such significant milestones in both Structurlam’s history, and the history of mass timber construction.” Photo and interview opportunities are available upon request.
